About
DYING FETUS has earned a reputation for uncompromising integrity with a slew of classic albums and today rides a resurgence of esteem with a new generation of fans. As Revolver noted: “Their unique sound has always straddled the line between extreme metal instrumentation and heavy hardcore chugginess… well-regarded by many of today’s heavy-hitting hardcore acts, as well as their fair share of death metal and deathcore up-and-comers.”
Recorded in Baltimore with longtime producer Steve Wright and mixed by Mark Lewis, Make Them Beg For Death captures every hallmark of the veteran death metal band’s brutal legacy. Their ninth album is fast, unrelenting, and drenched in groove-driven savagery.
Monstrous riffs, blast beats, and seismic breakdowns define the Dying Fetus sound. Tours with The Black Dahlia Murder, Suicide Silence, and Whitechapel affirm their relevance. Decibel inducted Destroy the Opposition (2000) into their Hall of Fame, and Wrong One to Fuck With was called a “menacing motherfucker” by Metal Injection.
Founded in 1991 by co-vocalist/guitarist John Gallagher, the band developed a unique blend of death, grind, and hardcore, drawing inspiration from Suffocation, Obituary, Deicide, and Carcass, as well as groove-laden acts like Agnostic Front and Rage Against The Machine. The result? Slam-heavy death metal with street-level grit.
Demos and early albums led to landmark records like Stop at Nothing and War of Attrition. Drummer Trey Williams joined in 2007, cementing the lineup that delivered tech-heavy Descend into Depravity, groovy Reign Supreme, and the crushing Wrong One to Fuck With.
From Download Festival to tours with GWAR, Morbid Angel, and Hatebreed, Dying Fetus continues to dominate. “The philosophy is the same now as when we started,” says Gallagher. “Write catchy riffs. Make it memorable.”
